Notes About the Current Part 2 Topics
If you are preparing to do the test in January, February, March or April 2009, you should be preparing Part 2/3 topics 133 to 182, (except for Topic #148). That's 45 topics.
However, you should understand that most, (but probably not all) of the following 11 topics will not be used again in the first four months of 2009: 133, 134, 136, 138, 139, 140 141, 142, 145, 146 and 147. Probably three or four of these topics will continue being used after the first test of January, but with some changes to the Part 3 questions.
Since we not not yet know which of these topics will be retired and which will stay in the test, you still need to prepare for them all but you should give less importance to these topics because the likelihood that you will get one of these topics in the first four months of 2009 is small.
After the first 3 or 4 tests in 2009, we will have a clearer picture of which of these topics have been retired and which are staying in the test.
We can expect to see 8 to 10 new Part 2/3 topics starting on January 10, 2009. The examiners will tend to use these new topics more often than the older topics. So, if you are going to do the test in January (or February), you should expect to get one of the new topics and you especially need to improve your skills at doing a Part 2 topic that you have never seen before. (You will not have seen the new topics before because I will not have the topics on this website until after 3 or 4 tests have given me enough information to put on this website.)
If you have time, it is also a good idea to try to look at some of the old, retired topics (Topics 1 to 131) because probably a few of the new topics in January will be similar to old, previously used topics. In fact, it is possible that some old topics will come back into the test (almost) exactly the same as before. Look at both the old Part 2 and Part 3 questions. The index for Topic 1 to 95 is shown HERE.
